When White's Pharmacy was founded in 1873, East Hampton, New York was a sleepy seaside town. But even then, fashionable New Yorkers were beginning to build summer "cottages" on the ocean, to escape the heat and crowds of turn-of-the century New York City. White's made sure to stock the latest in fancy tonics for the summer crowd.
